Underhåll av OCS PIC-koppling mot Yahoo

17 november kl 5.00PM – 5.30PM Pacific Time kommer Yahoo utföra underhåll av sina OCS Gateway-servrar. Det innebär att OCS-användare med koppling mot Yahoo kommer uppleva störningar i form av meddelanden som inte går fram och inkorrekt online-status-information för Yahoo-kontakter.

Microsoft supporterar nu OCS 2007 R2 i en virtuell miljö. Läs mer om det i det white paper jag länkar till nedan.

Microsoft has announced official support for server virtualisation for Office Communications Server 2007 R2.

OCS 2007 R2 PIC against AOL

	Använder man en Windows Server 2008 X64 som Edgeserver i sin OCS 2007 R2-lösning har man haft problem med PIC-kopplingen mot AOL. Nu finns dock en lösning. Läs Scott Oseychiks blogpost från idag.
	If you are using a Windows Server 2008 X64 as your OCS 2007 R2 Edge server, you have been experiencing problems with the PIC against AOL. Now there’s a solution – read Scott Oseychik’s blog post from today. Thanks Scott!

Office Communicator 2007 R2

Idag har jag installerat R2-versionen av Office Communicator för att se om den är kompatibel med Office Communications Server 2007 och det fungerade fint! Några av skillnaderna jag ser direkt är att man ser de Notes som ens kontakter på MSN skrivit, det gjorde man inte tidigare. Dessutom ser man om de personer som också använder Office Communicator är inloggade på Communicator Mobile eller som nedan – på en Phone device utan chatt-möjlighet:

Today I have installed Office Communicator 2007 R2 to see if it is compatible with the R1 version of Office Communications Server 2007 – and it is! Some of the new things I have found are: You can see the Notes that your MSN contacts have written. You can see if your contacts that are also running Office Communicator are logged in with the Communicator Mobile client or as below – on a Phone device without chat capabilities:

	För ca två veckor sedan slutade vår OCS 2007 PIC-koppling mot AOL fungera. Pga tidsbrist och misslyckade sökningar efter orsaken till problemet lyckades jag inte lösa det förrän igår. Tack vare en blogpost av Scott Oseychik fick jag lösningen.
	About two weeks ago our OCS 2007 PIC connection with AOL stopped working. Due to lack of time and failed Google searches I haven’t found the solution until yesterday. The solution is in a blog post by Scott Oseychik.

Attendant Console in OCS 2007 R2

	Hittade en video på Microsofts Technet Edge-site där Jamie Stark intervjuas och han visar den nya Attendant Console i OCS2007 R2. Den verkar riktigt, riktigt bra, precis det som idag saknas för receptionisten när man som vi kopplat ihop OCS med telefonväxeln. Ser mycket fram emot att få testa den här i februari!
	I found a video where Jamie Stark, a Technical Product Manager on the OCS team, is showing the new Attendant Console in OCS2007 R2. It looks really good, can’t wait to try it in February. You can find the video here.

Äntligen har Microsoft släppt lite information om nästa version av Office Communications Server 2007, som får tillägget R2. Den släpps i februari och har bl a följande nyheter:

– Stöd för telefonkonferens, vilket gör att man inte behöver hyra in sig hos kostsamma telefonkonferenstjänster.
– Möjlighet att enkelt dela skrivbord.
– Gruppchatt (jag är nyfiken på att se hur detta fungerar)
– Möjlighet att hantera samtal för andra än sig själv.
– Svarsgrupper
– Stöd för Communicator Mobile på fler enheter.

Finally Microsoft has released some information about the upcoming Office Communications Server 2007 R2. It will be available in February 2009 and it will contain a lot of new features. Read more about it here.
