Today me, Aleksandra and Pernilla visisted Agnes, Magnus and Angelica in Linköping. Agnes and Angelica met us at the train station and we almost immediately went to Bosses Glassbar to have ice cream

Tonight we went on a hot air balloon ride. It was wonderful! It was raining a bit when we arrived at the take-off site, but it stopped and they decided to go for it. In the picture is “our” balloon getting filled with 500 000 cubic feet or air.

Mikros Gialos

On our last day with the rental car, we wanted to see some more of the south-east part of the island. Around lunch time we came to the beautiful small village Mikros Gialos.

We had lunch at a really nice restaurant, which we can really recommend to everyone who visits Mikros Gialos. It’s called Zolithros Taverna. They had a lot of fresh fish to choose from and the staff was very nice!

Lefkada

Lefkada is the capital of the island Lefkada. This is where we ended our Friday car trip. We made a photo walk before having a nice seafood dinner near the marina.

Friday last week was our second day with the rental car. We decided to see some of the inner parts of the island, so we went to the small village Karia. We had a long, nice lunch on the village square before continuing to the west part of the island. Here’s some pictures from Karia.

Porto Katsiki

On Thursday, our first day with the rental cal, we went here – to Porto Katsiki. It’s a wonderful beach in the southwest part of the island. It’s not a sand beach, it has small round stones. But I like that, I don’t like getting sand everywhere

Today we had a great day on the road. We’ve seen a lot and had a lot of fun taking many pictures. The connection here is still slow, so only two pictures are published today. These ones are taken in Lefkada where we spent the late afternoon and the evening. More when we get back home.

Flower Mania

Yesterday, before the U2 concert, we went to the Gothenburg Botanical Garden to watch some plants and flowers (and take pictures of them of course )

I’m not sure how many flower pictures one is “allowed” to publish in one blog post, but here’s a few You can find a few more in the Fotonerna blog.

It’s a good thing that both of us really like taking macro shots of flowers

U2 at Ullevi

Yesterday (August 1st), we saw U2 at Ullevi Stadium in Gothenburg. Since we knew that we wouldn’t be able to bring our photo equipment to the concert, we took a walk outside the arena the night before, when U2 played their first Gothenburg concert.

Here’s “the claw” seen from outside the arena. It is the largest stage ever constructed for a tour like this. Apparently they have three of them touring – one is being used, one is being build for the next event and the third one is transported somewhere else

I can recommend the music ear plugs. They were really good, they didn’t affect the music experience.

Smögen

After Fjällbacka, we continued to Smögen, where we spent one night. It was very cold and windy there, so we didn’t take a lot of pictures. But we had a great dinner at Smögens Havsbad and then we stayed at Smögen Gästgifveri.

Halden / Götheborg

Idag blev det en tur upp till Halden i Norge. Ostindiefararen Götheborg har lagt till där.

Today we made a trip to Halden, Norway. The Ship Götheborg is staying there right now.

Sedan åkte vi upp och tittade på Fredrikstens fästning.

After that we looked at the Fredriksten fortress.

På väg hem blev det en fotosession på gamla Svinesundsbron.

On our way home we stopped on the old Svinesund bridge for a photo session.

Skärhamn / Tjörn

Idag begav vi oss mot västkusten för lite semestrande. Pga ihållande regn blev det inte så mycket stopp och fotograferande som vi hade hoppats, men vi stannade i alla fall i Skärhamn på Tjörn för att besöka Nordiska Akvarellmuseet och äta lunch. Sedan fortsatte vi upp till Skee och våra vänner Martin, Judit och Bori – jättekul att äntligen träffa dem igen.

Today we travelled to the west coast of Sweden. We went by train to Gothenburg and continued north with a rental car. Due to rainy weather, we didn’t do many stops and couldn’t take many photos, but we made a stop at Tjörn to visit The Nordic Watercolour Museum and to have lunch. Then we continued to Skee to our friends Martin, Judit and Bori.
